The dining room
At the centre of the home, the dining room is built for company. The Mila Dining Table by Studio Bastiras anchors the space: three metres of solid American oak in a natural finish, designed and manufactured in Melbourne. It is the kind of table that records the day — coffee rings, sun-warmed grain, the slow accumulation of family dinners. Around it, the Beetle Dining Chair by GamFratesi for GUBI holds a sculptural line and is comfortable enough to sit in for hours.
The living area
At its centre, the Wonder Sofa by Space Copenhagen for GUBI takes the place - a new take on the modular sofa that draws on the informality, generosity and play of 1970s lounge furniture and brings it into the present on a minimal frame. In front, the Selos and Volo coffee tables by Studio Bastiras: a nesting set in whiskey-stained solid oak, an organic form that reads as much as sculpture as furniture. The Akari UF4-33N Floor Lamp by Isamu Noguchi diffuses soft light across the setting, an old idea held well in the present. Timber thresholds draw the garden in.
The bedroom
The bedroom keeps its own quiet register, pared back to its essentials. The Meguro Side Table by Studio Bastiras, solid oak in a painted blue named Hailstorm, sits beside the bed. Made through a laminated process, its surface reveals an end grain you only really catch up close — a small, considered detail.
The study
The room to retreat to: a space for creativity, reading and unwinding, made to house books, materials, drawings, and everything else a working room gathers. Soft, filtered light pours through the tree-lined window, where mature birch frame the view. The Strand Table Lamp by Muuto warms the room. On the olive-toned carpet, the Daumiller Side Chairs by GUBI invite a seat. Designed by Rainer Daumiller, they are robust and reassuringly solid in form.
