With Biny Spot, Jacques Biny worked on how to concentrate a beam of light on a specific surface. The Biny Spot uses a unique rotating joint that can turn 330° around and 88° backwards and forwards. There are two finishes available for the base - black and nickel - and three for the covers - black, nickel and brass. Distributed either with or without its own switch, the Biny Spot is a developed re-edition and comes with either its own integrated LED or with a separate dimmable Bulb (not supplied).

About the Brand: DCW Editions

DCW éditions is a french company, founded in 2008 by Philippe Cazer and Frédéric Winkler. They first produced the Lampe Gras, created in 1921 by the inventor Bernard-Albon Gras, first articulated lamp of the history, much lauded at the time by Le Corbusier.

2013 saw them bring out the Mantis lamps of British designer Bernard Schottlander. The Mantis were created in 1951 as an homage to Alexander Calder. DCW Éditions then released the singular Here Comes the Sun, designed by Bertrand Balas in 1970.

As the past is nothing without the future, DCW innovated by editing for instance In the Tube, specially designed by world renowned architect Dominique Perrault and his partner Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost.

About the Designer: Jacques Biny

Jacques Biny (1913-1976) was a French lighting designer and the founder of the lighting company Luminalite. Biny was an exceptionally productive designer who developed over 400 models during his career. The essential elements in his designs were functionality, minimalism and clean-lined elegance, and thanks to their timeless appearance, his designs are still popular among collectors.
