With its UFO-like lights, the chandelier In The Air created by Douglas Mont, claims a place in this repertoire where retro-futuristic fantasy meets nostalgic science fiction. Watching and rewatching American comics or B-movie Hollywood films filled with flying saucers helps to gauge the impact of this luminous arsenal, operating in fleets of three or six aircraft. Luminous, biomorphic, resting without anchoring on metal circles, like some totemic lights of the Italian 1960s, In The Air positions itself in spatial equilibrium, profiled like a levitating, opalescent air station. Two weights, two measures depending on the number of lights, without altering its DNA and appearance.
