Ómós

Ómós sits on the edge of Abbeyleix, Ireland's oldest estate town. A sixteen-room guesthouse in a Victorian house brought back from dereliction, a new forty-seat restaurant beside it, and a name that means homage, duty and respect in Irish.

The restaurant is led by chef Cúán Greene, who came home to County Laois after years at Noma and Geranium. Ryan W Kennihan Architects handled the restoration and drew the new building from the proportions of the Irish farmstead. Interior architects Cassandra Bradfield of Asca Studio and Rebecca Norberg of Relief Gallery spent three years on the interiors, studying Irish design history material by material, maker by maker.

De La Espada worked closely with both studios to bring their site-specific designs to life, drawing on generations of woodworking and upholstery expertise, contributing bespoke furniture alongside pieces from its core collections. In Common With, New York based lighting specialists, provided the lighting across the entire property.
