A simple strip light was the only light available for Jørgen Gammelgaard during his visit to Samoa in the sixties. To improve the light quality Gammelgaard turned the light strip vertical and decorated it with plastic lids.
That homemade lamp became the inspiration for the Tip Top pendant which was immediately after its presentation bought by The Danish Arts Foundation.
