 Professor Martin Blake (BSc MBA DBA)

At the forefront of the de-carbonising movement, Professor Martin Blake is an internationally respected expert in sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and business management, with over 20 years experience.

 

His award winning programs have delivered paradigm shifts in terms of sustainability and carbon reduction with inherent cost savings to one of Europe’s most diverse and challenging organisations.

Professor Blake pioneered the 6 pillar In Good Company Framework (IGC) approach to CSR, giving companies a clearer and more accountable construct to help devise their CSR programs.

Professor Blake Chairs and advises a multitude of strategic groups all focused on the development and deployment of low carbon infrastructure, including Board directorships of  Fuel Cell Europe and Scottish Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association. He is also strategic advisor to Bovis Lend Lease (UK) and the Scottish Government Hydrogen group and chairs both Post Europe and United Postal Union’s Sustainable development committee.

He is a Member of the Institute of Directors and a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Management and the Royal Society of Arts.

Professor Blake is the Adjunct Professor of Sustainability at the University of Southern Queensland and the Inaugural President of the Australian-based International Body for Carbon Management and Sustainability professionals.

Martin is deeply involved in charity work, especially focusing on equal opportunity for socially excluded groups.

William Mertens (BSc Hons PGCE)

A passionate educator with over 15 years experience, Mr Mertens has a breadth of expertise in training and program development. 

William has particular strength in inspiring students, across a diverse spectrum of abilities and learning styles, to fulfil their potential.

He has a background in science with a degree focus on climatology and environmental change.

Yvonne Cuneo

With 27 years experience working across a variety of cultures in a multitude of countries, Ms Cuneo is a professional strongly committed to the principles of diversity.

 She has worked for the last nine years with an international charity/NGO that is highly respected for its work in the social, economic and ecological aspects of sustainability as Head of Communications and External Relations.

 Yvonne’s diverse international background serves her work in relationship building, external relations and cultural change  and she has been important in helping this organisation, with a £1.5 million turnover, increase its presence in the world. Her gift for interpersonal communications ensures she is also an inspirational presenter, facilitator and motivator.

 A Law graduate of Sheffield Hallam University, Mark Cavill, is a technical manager with a specialisation in clean technology solutions and sustainability.

He spent the last 3 years working in-house at one of the UK’s largest employers on decarbonisation, innovations and the transition to a low carbon economy. Mark proactively lead the company’s transition to a low-zero carbon future by de-coupling from fossil fuels and reviewing and implementing emergent technologies such as hydrogen fuel cells, energy efficiency and renewable generation. He is a talented speaker who has been invited to sit and participate on many  Government-led steering groups around the area of policy, renewables including the Scottish Government Hydrogen economy working group.

Jess Newing

 With over 15 years experience in international business management, Mr. Newing is a professional with a background in the tourism and travel, airline, health and entertainment industries. He has a proven record in supporting clients to transform a vision, into a profitable venture through innovation and creativity through his depth of project management and operations management expertise. He has consulted on change management strategies and has advised brands through the full cycle from R&D to commercialization of products and services alike. He has a degree-level education in mixed multi-media, and marketing, and has also trained with the National Project Management inc. Mr. Newing looks to complete his Executive MBA in 2011.
